The building under construction will be the tallest one in the world, on completion of it. Taller ones will be coming up in some other part of the world without much delay. I took this photo when I visited Jumeirah beach. From the beach, I got this far view of the building.

they constructued the tower to reach the heaven..never knew where to stop.. where is enginering..
But about Babel, it is written that, it had a stop, yes they finished building it. The king who built it stood on top of it. And when he stood up there, he thought that he was even powerful than God and dared to talk against God and reject God, then god punished by sending a lighting and splitting the entire humans by giving them different languages. But it is not written that they did not know where to stop or they continued constructing it till they could reach heaven.
