Wishing You Merry X-MAS

Let me wish all my dear blog readers a happy Christmas and prosperous new year.

The birth of the lord in Jerusalem was first witnessed by cattle, followed by shepherds and three wise men from the east. God always gave preference to simplicity through out history and the birth of the King of the Kings reassured simplicity.

  1. Why no new entries? Your readers are eagerly waiting to view/read your new endeavours...

Why don't you post an entry on "Theyyam", a spectacular art form of Kerala? You can write also about 'Valliyur kavu', the ancient temple of wayaand...

One more suggestion...nobody has tried on ancient paintings/carving of Wayanad..Visit Jain temples, Edakkal..
Also, ancient art forms of wayand..
All the very best to you...

  2. Thank you for the comments.

I don't have much knowledge about Theyyam, and I have never seen a performance of the art in Wayanad.
But I guess, these art forms are more prominent in Kannur and Kasargod district.

Yeah, I know that there are a lot of ancient wall paintings and carvings in temples and other monuments in Wayanad. I need to visit stil a lot more places in Wayanad.

I have some photos ready to be published. But I need to do some more work on that before I publish the articles.

  3. Theyyam in wayaand is known as "Thira" and if you want to know more information about thira, talk to Vinod K jose who has done a project work on the same and received applauds on this work. And thira in wayand is entirely different from that of kannur's n kasargod's. THira is associated with beleives and certain norms of Tribal groups of wayaand.. It's really a wonderful experience to participate in their spectacular rituals..Intersted in? Contact me;)

  4. I have not started blogging much about the culture and festivals of Wayanad, except for some posts about Valliyoorkkavu. I hope I can spend more time in the future for writing something about it.
