Back In Dubai
When the blogger visited Dubai again after 2 years and 9 months, the face of Dubai changed a lot. The tallest building you see in this picture (as well as in the world as of now) was under construction then.

Dancing Fountain near Burj Khalifa Dubai
The blogger visited Dubai once again. He was on his way to California, when he missed the connection flight from Dubai. Emirates arranged the stay for the blogger in New Millennium hotel till next day where he had to board the next flight. The blogger’s intimate friend (Jaison) picked him from the hotel and roamed around Dubai. Jaison and blogger shared their golden memories in Dubai and the blogger enjoyed the new face of Dubai. They were working together in Emirates IT, when there were no Metro train, Burj Khalifa was under construction, palm Islands were not ready… The bloggers colleague Rudresh was also part of this fun trip in Dubai, who was also flying from Bangalore to California. The blogger found very difficult to shoot this video with his canon still camera. When he came out of the chilled air in shopping mall to the hot summer climate outside, his camera lens got fogged too much because of the high humid air. The tiny water sprinkled from the dancing fountain added to the foggy look of this video. More information about this wonderful fountain can be seen in the Wikipedia link : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dubai_Fountain

Memories of a Desert Safari
Desert Safari is one of the most interesting tour programs in Dubai, as well as entire U.A.E. Dune bashing, Camel riding, Henna Painting, Belly Dancing, Arabic coffee, Barbeque dinner etc gives the true feeling of the Desert life. The program is an excellent opportunity for photography. The pick up and drop facility for the entire tour program makes it very easy for people to take part in it.
The above picture is my own shadow in the desert sand, taken whiles the drivers where having a short break for gathering together for the dune bashing.

Momentarily Friendship
When I was waiting for my friend Rajesh Jose near a super market in Al Karama (A densely populated area in Dubai), I got a new friend for the time being. This cat was walking in and out of the shopping center. I don’t know why it was walking in, then walking out, and repeating it. I watched the creature when I was standing in front of the door. I watched kids coming out of the shopping center in fear of the cat, taking another door to get out. After a while this cat noticed me watching it. It looked at me for some time, then slowly approached me, the lay down near my shows, and looked at me for some time. Then it embraced my leg and started sleeping on m shows. My camera was with me as usual to capture the pictures.
Fog in Dubai - Nov 2007
The fog that covered the Dubai atmosphere caused severe flight delays for many days from Dubai International Airport. The visibility was almost reduced to 100 meters at some point of time, especially early in the morning. I could never imagine that the hot Dubai, where temperature reaches 55 Degree Celsius in the summer can have a climate like this. Even though its winter now in Dubai, the temperature is still around 30 Degree Celsius. These pictures are taken from near Al Fattan Plaza where the office of Emirates Group IT is situated. The location is next to Dubai International Airport - Terminal 1.

Sunset of December and Emirates Towers
This photo was taken while I was traveling from Airport to Satwa, via Karama. Since the Vehicle was on move, the frame is not properly aligned, and the image is little bit shaken. The sky is little bit foggy

God is Still Painting
After the recent cyclone formation in Arabian Sea, it was slightly drizzling in Dubai on second and third of November. The sky was cloudy, but on Saturday evening, the sky was painted with clouds with amazing designs. I could capture few of those designs, while I was on the way to attend the evening Holy Mass at St. Mary’s Church, Dubai. The designs were changing in shape, size and color in each minute.

The Belt of Venus
The belt of Venus (named after the Roman goddess Venus) is a pink to brownish border separating the dark shadow band of the earth from the sky above it. It is best visible when the atmosphere is cloudless, yet very dusty, just after sunset. The twilight wedge is then rising over the eastern sky and the backscattered red sunlight at the border of the wedge can then be identified as the belt of Venus.

Date Palm Trees – Dubai
Date palm trees are extensively seen in Dubai, as well as any where in gulf countries I believe. I have seen Date Palms through out the 500km distance when I traveled from Dubai to Muscat by bus. Now is the season of date fruits. The fruits are ripe. Planters protect the bunch of dates hanging from these trees by covering the bunch with a net. When I reached Dubai in the last week of March, I saw the dates in green color. Now it is almost ripe. It turned yellow and now dark red or pink in color. Antony my room mate, bought some of them, pink and red in color, and we tasted it. Wav!!! The taste is entirely different from the experience of having the packed one available in shops. The flesh of the fruit is hard as an apple. He bought it from making pickles. Pickles!!! I am waiting for the pickles to be ready and taste it. We; Malayalees makes pickle out of anything.

Hoisted High - flag of UAE
This flag is hoisted most high in UAE. Situated near Jumeriah beach 1, this enormous flag mast and flag is something really great. Illuminated with spot lights from every corner, this flag can be viewed from most of the places in Dubai.

Sunset from Jumeirah, Dubai - UAE
The picture is taken from Jumeirah beach – 1. See the different kinds of clouds spread in the sky! Any one can identify the type these clouds belong to? I remember some 4 or 6 types of clouds that I studied from upper primary schools.

The other extreme
Dubai is looking for new heights. You can see the Emirates towers – the pride of Dubai in the first picture. In between the two towers you can see the new building under construction, which on completion will be the world’s tallest building. Even when Dubai is looking for better heights, lot of other problems are becoming real head ache to the rulers. One is the traffic increasing day by day. Metro is coming up, but people do not believe that Metro will solve the problem.
