Winter Sunset in Wayanad

I got these photographs, while I was having a cup of coffee on the balcony of my house in Payyampally. Sunsets in December are usually awesome, and during this season, the sky is pretty clear, and Wayanad is a place very much suited for sky gazing during December and January. But occasionally fog may reduce the visibility in some nights and early in the morning before sunrise.

Mini Eco System

Cattle and Cranes make a small echo system. Not only are these two creatures part of the eco system, but many other small creatures that feeds on the cow. These minute creatures that feeds and grows on the body of the cow; here turns to be the food of the crane. Thus, the body of the cattle gets cleaned while the crane eats the small insects and bugs. Cows are not disturbed when the cranes sits and eat on them, they love to be get cleaned in this way.

Beauty

The above picture of a crane is taken from our paddy field in Payyampally. Cranes are seen in lot during the entire year in paddy fields of Wayanad.

Momentarily Friendship

When I was waiting for my friend Rajesh Jose near a super market in Al Karama (A densely populated area in Dubai), I got a new friend for the time being. This cat was walking in and out of the shopping center. I don’t know why it was walking in, then walking out, and repeating it. I watched the creature when I was standing in front of the door. I watched kids coming out of the shopping center in fear of the cat, taking another door to get out. After a while this cat noticed me watching it. It looked at me for some time, then slowly approached me, the lay down near my shows, and looked at me for some time. Then it embraced my leg and started sleeping on m shows. My camera was with me as usual to capture the pictures.

Fog in Dubai - Nov 2007

The fog that covered the Dubai atmosphere caused severe flight delays for many days from Dubai International Airport. The visibility was almost reduced to 100 meters at some point of time, especially early in the morning. I could never imagine that the hot Dubai, where temperature reaches 55 Degree Celsius in the summer can have a climate like this. Even though its winter now in Dubai, the temperature is still around 30 Degree Celsius. These pictures are taken from near Al Fattan Plaza where the office of Emirates Group IT is situated. The location is next to Dubai International Airport - Terminal 1.

The dream of a butterfly

She was born as a beautiful butterfly,
She flew in search of a garden, her dream
But she never did find her dream any where
She flew in the solitude pain and hope
Starving for the honey of the garden of her dream

Once upon a time, she was flying very high,
She found her dream, very far in her sight,
Pounded with joy, she flew towards her dream,
The dream that she hoped, all through the years,
With so fast a pace, that she never had before.

The power of her wings was not from her body,
But from a mind with full of hope and joy,
She flew to reach her dream, before stopped by any,
She felt every second like a decade of pain,
Pain to see the garden, that made her live.

When all of sudden, she felt great pain,
Pain in her wings that made them freeze,
She was falling down, when the hope was still far
She was thrown into a desert of soreness and stings,
She lied there on the sand of extreme heat and cold,
That tortured her in for days and night.

The ache was so cruel, that she couldn’t even dream,
The dream to see the garden, that made her live,
She wept in the solitude of the cruel reality,
It will take days before she could flutter again high.
Flutter her wings, to reach the garden of her dream.

The heart of garden cried in with desperate and wild mind,
When he felt that he could not help, the fly who dreamed him
To reach out the desert to make it a garden of love,
Reach the butterfly, who hoped to reach him fast,
God blessed with wings, only the butterfly,
She lied down in the desert, in great agony
In hope to dream at least, the dream that made her live,
The dream which she searched, for her entire life of solitude

God is Still Painting

After the recent cyclone formation in Arabian Sea, it was slightly drizzling in Dubai on second and third of November. The sky was cloudy, but on Saturday evening, the sky was painted with clouds with amazing designs. I could capture few of those designs, while I was on the way to attend the evening Holy Mass at St. Mary’s Church, Dubai. The designs were changing in shape, size and color in each minute.

Contrast

This is a picture of a plant which has similar kind of leaves of a plantain and the structure of the main stem like that of a coconut tree. This plant that grows 10-20 meters high is used in gardens. We have two of them which are about 20 years old in our home garden at Payyampally.

Sunshine

The above picture is of the building Al Fattan Plaza where my current office is situated. This building is situated next to Dubai International Airport, nearest to Terminal 1. In the above picture you can see the dazzling sunshine reflection from the glass panes of the building. The picture is taken using a 2 Mega pixel Nokia mobile camera.

This photograph is taken using Canon PowerShot S2 IS, which is now replaced by Canon PowerShot S3 IS and later by Canon PowerShot S5 IS in the market.

Dubai Creek at Twilight

View of Dubai Creek from Bur Dubai side, at twilight. Dubai creek is one of the place which is crowded most in the evening, where people come to relax and refresh.

Contrails

Contrails or vapor trails are condensation trails and artificial cirrus clouds made by the exhaust of aircraft engines or wingtip vortices which precipitate a stream of tiny ice crystals in moist, frigid upper air. Being composed of water, the visible white streams are not, in and of themselves, air pollution. However, contrails generated by engine exhaust are inevitably linked with typical fuel combustion pollutants. The second picture is taken using a 2 mega pixel Nokia mobile camera. The building behind is Al Fattan Plaza where my current work place – office of Emirates Group IT (Mercator).

Sunset Over Concrete Structures

Sunset over beautiful mountains is a dream for people living in a place like Dubai, which is actually nothing, but Desert. Concrete structures are so big in cities like Dubai, which gives a different perspective to the landscape.

God is Still Painting

Cloud designs are always amazing, every time they create some thing very much new.

Full moon - Dubai Creek (26-Sep-2007)

I visited my friend – Nithin Kurien to see his newly bought Canon EOS 400D. My Canon PowerShot S2 IS was in my office bag as usual. Then when we took our cameras out and went to his apartment’s balcony to see the wonderful full moon rise over the buildings that decorate the Dubai Creek. I tried photos with various shutter speed time and came these results from my Canon PowerShot S2 IS. The above photo is taken with a shutter speed of 15 seconds and aperture of F8.0, ISO50 and manual focus mode.

You can see the trail of a flight that took off from Dubai International airport in the bottom left quadrant that flew across the angle of view during the long exposure. The blinking light gave in-between white spots to the trail as you see in the above picture. You can see a small trail of another flight, in the photograph below.
